Terms of use

This is a starter document and has not been reviewed by a lawyer. It must be checked against South African law (POPIA, the Consumer Protection Act and ECTA) and completed with Veld & Steel business details before the store opens for orders.

Who you are dealing with

About these terms

By using Veld & Steel you agree to these terms. They are governed by South African law, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute.

The marketplace

Veld & Steel hosts listings from independent sellers as well as its own. The seller shown on a product page is the party you buy from unless stated otherwise. [Confirm whether Veld & Steel or the seller is merchant of record.]

Accounts

Keep your password confidential; you are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

Selling on Veld & Steel

Sellers apply and are approved before they may list. Listings are reviewed before they appear, and any edit to a live listing returns it for review. We may remove a listing or suspend a seller at our discretion, in particular for unlawful, unsafe, counterfeit or inappropriate goods.

Auctions

• The highest bid when the clock stops wins the lot.
• A bid placed in the final moments extends the clock, so an auction cannot be sniped.
• Bids are binding once bidding is open.
• Where a lot carries a reserve, that is stated on the listing; if the reserve is not met the lot goes unsold.
• Veld & Steel charges the seller a commission on a sold lot, shown on the listing at the time it is created.

Pricing and availability

Prices are in South African rand and include VAT where applicable. We may correct pricing errors, and decline or cancel an order where an item is unavailable, refunding anything already paid.

Your cancellation and return rights

Your rights under ECTA and the Consumer Protection Act are set out on our returns page and are not limited by these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version published here is the one that applies.
